Over 15,000 jobs up for grabs in Ilocos on Labor Day

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – At least 15,000 jobs, local and foreign, are up for grabs in the Ilocos region on Labor Day (May 1), the Ministry of Labor and Employment announced on Saturday ( DOLE).

Among these local offerings are 14,623 vacancies for customer service representatives, production operators, collections specialists, retail or sales agents, sales representatives and service teams.

DOLE added that 481 vacancies are open for jobs overseas, including factory workers, painters, frame workers, welders, plastic molders, machine and production operators, personnel sales reps, computer programmers and graphic designers.

The May Day job fairs would be held at three different locations in the region, namely, MMX Center, Magic Mall in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan; Tagudin Farmers Civic Center in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur; and the Robinsons Mall business area in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

The DOLE advised job seekers joining job fairs to follow standard health protocols.

At Ilocos Norte, the largest public hospital in the province, the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center is also joining the Robinsons Mall job fair.

More than 900 positions are also available at the hospital, including medical specialists and officers, nurses, chemists, speech therapists, respiratory therapists, x-ray technologists, service assistants, laboratory aides, health promotion, occupational therapists, medical technologists, social welfare officers, midwives, auxiliary nurses, dental hygienists, statisticians, nutritionists-dieticians and administrative officers.
