Montefiore PA residency program celebrates 50 years – Bronx Times

The Postgraduate Physician Assistant (PA) Surgical Residency Program at Montefiore celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021.
Established in 1971, it is the oldest program in the country and a place with a great history and tradition. He trained over 450 AM.
In the program, residents rotate through specialties such as ICU, trauma surgery, general surgery, vascular surgery, computed tomography surgery, minimally invasive surgery, computed tomography surgery, day surgery, surgery of transplantation and elective rotations ranging from plastic surgery to interventional radiology, ENT, orthopedics and urology, to name a few.
“As we enter our 50 years of residency, we have graduated 465 ‘Montefiore residency-trained’ surgical AMs who practice across the country,” said Ben Philip, Chief AM and Director of the Surgical Postgraduate Residency Program. AP. “With around 80 postgraduate MA residencies in the country, everyone in the industry knows that Montefiore set the standard in 1971 and we continue with a reputation for excellence and being the best in training d ‘AM skilled, knowledgeable and reliable surgeons. “
There are now 85 programs like Montefiore’s across the country.
