Meeting of plastic surgeons from Bihar and J’khand
The annual conference of Bihar and Jharkhand Chapter of Plastic Surgeons of India was held on Saturday in Ranchi under the chairmanship of eminent cosmetic surgeon Dr Anant Sinha. At least 47 delegates from Bihar and Jharkhand attended the conference.
Dr Hari Venkatramani from Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore, Dr Subodh Singh from Varanasi, Dr Ranjana Malhotra from Howrah, Dr Vimalendu Brajesh from Medanta Hospital in Delhi also honored the convention with their presence.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Arun Kumar Singh, the main guest of the convention, declared it open. Singh said he was trying to start a plastic surgery education program at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi and urged the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to expand its support on the matter.
A session with dermatologists was held at Saturday’s conference for the treatment of post-traumatic and post-burn scars. Similar sessions with orthopedic and neurosurgeon surgeons on Sundays.
Addressing the assembly, Dr Anant Sinha said that a trauma unit cannot function without the support of a plastic surgeon. “It’s the only specialty that covers head to toe and the conference theme is also head to toe,” Sinha said.
