Prior to joining HSS in 1997, Dr. Sandhu was Chief of Spine Surgery at UCLA. His clinical practice specializes in minimally invasive spine surgery, robotic surgery, and the use of spine biologics to enhance healing. Dr. Sandhu is also actively engaged in the research and development of medical devices and instruments used in spine surgery and holds several patents. Additionally, he has authored or co-authored over 100 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has received research awards from the North American Spine Society, the Orthopedic Research Society, and the International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine, including the prestigious Volvo Prize in Spine Research.
