Accomplished Australian ophthalmologist Con Moshegov, MD, has died

Con Moshegov, MD, a former member of the Eye Surgery News The editorial board of the Asia-Pacific edition, died of COVID at the end of January, according to a statement from the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Moshegov was a graduate of the University of Sydney Medical School and underwent specialist training at Sydney Eye Hospital, according to the website of the George St Eye Center, where he was a partner.
Throughout his career, Moshegov acted as a consultant to numerous ophthalmic companies. He was a member of several professional societies including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Australian Medical Association, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
“When his friends describe Con, the words generous, charismatic, humorous and caring are constants. Those who knew Con are socially remembered as a bon vivant, a storyteller, a serious listener and always a the joy of any gathering. Con’s humor and enthusiastic opinions have always made his lectures a highlight of any programme,” the Australian Society of Ophthalmologists said in an emailed statement.
A service for Moshegov will be streamed live on YouTube February 5, with the Divine Liturgy at 7:30 a.m. AEDT and the funeral service at 9:30 a.m. AEDT.
